I CAN BE BIG ENOUGH TO SAY I'M SORRY!

We have a responsibility for things that we have said or done to hurt others in the past.

Making amends is the practice of telling people that we are sorry if we hurt them.

How could someone make amends after:

  • Yelling at their mother
  • Hitting their brother or sister
  • Teasing someone in a mean way

Amends Helper Words:

  • I hurt you when I ______
  • I feel bad about ______
  • I'm sorry I said ______

Responsibility Helper Words:

  • RESPONSIBILITY! IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A RESPONSIBLE PERSON!
  • Making amends is the way to go. Go talk to him about what just happened.
  • I'll go ahead and make my amends about what I did.
  • YES! I did it! I was able to say "I'm sorry."
  • I can clear up things I did that hurt other people.
  • I can make a different choice after making a mistake.
  • I don't have to hold on to feeling bad about what I did. I clean it up.
