Peace Newsletters and Magazines from Nonprofit Organizations

Teaching Tolerance is a magazine with articles about combatting racism for elementary and Jr. High teachers giving ideas and suggestions from "teachers on the front line troops." There is no cots to educators. This excellent resource is published twice a year by the Southern Poverty Laws Center. Contact Teaching Tolerance, 400 Washington Ave. Montgomery, AL 36104.

Peace & Freedom is a bimonthly newsletter of the Peace Education Committee of the Jane Adams Peace Association and Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Subscription cost unknown. Parenting Press bills itself as having books for children and those who care for them. They have a great selection of parenting books. This catalog can be obtained at PO Box 75267, Seattle, WA 98125.

Sopris West has a great book Bully Proofing Your School: A Comprehensive Approach for Elementary Schools ($29.95 plus shipping and handling) giving ideas, guidelines and lesson plans to help children who are targets and those who bully. Peace Building Materials for Communities and Schools
